So, how do you feel about winning £5,000 in cash?

Oh my god. It feels really good. It feels amazing. It’s been a tough few weeks so that’s amazing! 

How did you hear about the Omaze Million Pound House Draw? 

I saw it online and I thought, for £10 to give a donation to Teenage Cancer Trust and the chance to win something as well, why would I not? I just did it and never thought any more of it, to be honest.

What tempted you to enter?

When I saw the house I thought, well… I can try to live the dream. I clicked through and saw you get 15 entries for £10 and I thought, it’s a good donation to the charity and I might win a house. When I saw, at the bottom, there were other prizes each week, I thought, we might win a tee-shirt or something. So, that’s all I expected when I got your email, not £5,000 cash! 

Had you heard about Teenage Cancer Trust before you entered?

Yes. I follow Teenage Cancer Trust anyway. A company I used to work for support them and as a family, we support them because we lost a cousin to cancer when he was twelve. When he died, Teenage Cancer Trust was just starting out but they made it a little bit easier for him to be in the hospital. So, it’s something we’ve always supported. My sister has jumped out of an aeroplane to raise funds.

So, how are you going to spend the £5,000?

We got married last November and we said we’d save up to go on a big holiday in a few years to give us time to save up. But now we can probably do it next year (all being well). I can’t believe I’ve won £5,000!

Obviously, you’re still in to win the house. What would you do if you won?

The likelihood is that I would sell it. It’s over two hours away from my family. I’ve lived away from them before and hated it so I would sell it in order to be able to buy a house closer to home. I’d also donate a little bit to charity and I told my sister if I won the Million Pound House, I would buy her a house too.
