When we turned up to surprise Eliza, her son, Carl, explained she wasn’t actually in the country. In fact, she was celebrating her birthday in Luxembourg.

And when Jo reminded the couple that they are now multi-millionaires, Eliza exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, you saying it like that has made me realise it’s changing the future.”

This latest donation will help fund research into more effective treatments for blood cancer, especially for young people.
