There’s no more perfect pairing than this Land Rover Defender and Airstream travel trailer.
The Land Rover Defender is as British as they come, and this particular model, with Grasmere Green paint and a sandy coloured ‘roll top’ roof apes the very first Series 1 original from 1948.
The Airstream travel trailer follows that same heritage-inspired philosophy, only it hails from across the Atlantic, so compared with this Land Rover’s demure appearance it’s dazzling in its bare aluminium bodywork. Still, its American size is a plus, creating spacious accommodation for four.
Want the chance to win both, a combined prize worth over £150,000? Enter the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Sussex, and you could win your dream house plus this wonderful adventure-ready Land Rover Defender and Airstream duo.
Let’s start with the Land Rover Defender. It first appeared in 1948 as the Series 1, and while the oily bits beneath the surface evolved through a near-70 year production run (as over 2 million were sold) the design barely changed.
Ours is in fact one of the very last ever built, having been registered in 2016, shortly before production ended. Purchased from a private collection, having covered less than 250 miles, an Omaze makeover now means it’s ‘better than new’.
That makeover has been purposely retro-theme, with the style aping the very first Series 1. The colour is ‘Grasmere Green’ (albeit with unique metallic finish) and there’s a heritage-style, sandy coloured ‘roll top’ roof. Meticulously chosen details, like the timeless ‘Wolf’ steel wheels and chunky BF Goodrich tyres, make this oh-so-special.
However, while the Defender was conceived as a workhorse, ours offers more luxury. The standard seats have been retrimmed in leather, the dashboard and gear stick too, and you’ll find a Marshall amp fitted into the central armrest. All-in-all, it’s about as good as a Defender gets.
The history of Airstream stretches back even further than that of Land Rover and the Defender, to almost 100 years – and the iconic ‘silver bullet’ design itself, in bare aluminium, has been with us as long as the ‘Landie’. No less impressive is that over 75% of the Airstreams built in 90+ years are still on the road.
Our model though, an Airstream International 25 IB, is as modern as they come, and is a glamourpuss that gives caravaning a good name.
It sleeps four, with the daybed electrically reclining for sleeping, and the sofas converting to sleep two more. Of course, curtains or blinds on every window take care of those summertime late sunsets and early sunrises.
This Airstream is like a home away from home, with all the mod cons present and correct in its chic interior: 32-inch pop-up television; triple burner hob plus oven and grille; and a fridge and freezer. Then there’s the central heating, the en-suite shower room, and the large roll-out external canopy. You’ll want for nothing.
So, you’re sold, and if you enter the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Sussex, by Sunday 15th June, you’ll have the chance to win this ultimate adventure duo, worth over £150,000.
Every entry also gives you the chance to win this £4,000,000 house in Sussex in the Grand Prize Draw. And the best part? You’ll be supporting the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
So, what are you waiting for? Do something omazing.
