Omaze Million Pound House Running Costs
Running costs for any home can vary significantly depending on its location, size, features, whether it has any additional land or buildings and how it’s occupied. Based on the 2024 and 2025 Omaze houses, the annual running costs of a typical Omaze house range from £20,000 to £40,000, which works out at between £1,667 and £3,332 per month.
This figure includes all household utility bills, council tax and the cost of employing cleaners, maintenance services and gardeners, where appropriate. For some houses, running costs cannot be fully estimated in advance—for example, for newly built homes or for homes sold without all the land or out buildings previously associated with the home.
For each Omaze house, Omaze considers these factors, along with our experience with prior homes, to help us determine the amount of settling in cash we provide to our winner.
Live in. Rent Out. Sell Up.
Each Grand Prize Winner receives a minimum of £250,000 in cash to help them settle in and cover the cost of running their Omaze Million Pound House so they can comfortably use the home they have won—whether they choose to live in, rent out, or sell up.
What Previous Winners Say

The Devon House Grand Prize Winner, Simon Williams, sold his £2,000,000 Million Pound Omaze House near Dartmoor National Park. He said:
“I love Devon, and thanks to the money I also got, keeping the house was an option, but I’ve built a life in Sussex, so I decided to sell up and bank the cash."
The Lake District House Grand Prize Winner, Hannah Drury, kept her £4,000,000 Omaze Million Pound House in Coniston to both spend time in and rent out. She said:
“We’ve now decided we’ll also rent it out, as the money we’ll get will be genuinely life-changing – it gives us a sense of security we could never have imagined and takes all the pressure off."

The Yorkshire House winner, Eliza Yahioglu, moved into her £2,000,000 Omaze Million Pound House near Nidderdale. She said:
“The house is amazing, even nicer than it looked in pictures - as soon as I walked through the front door, it stopped being a house and immediately became our home."
