Together We Raised £3,900,000 for Alzheimer's Research UK
Dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK, with almost one million people currently living with the condition and no treatments available on the NHS to slow, stop or prevent it.
Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Drug Discovery team is working to change this, bridging the gap between world-leading researchers and later stage drug discovery to speed up the search for new dementia treatments. But they can’t do it alone.
The money you raised by entering the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Scotland, will help fund the research team for more than two years, powering their efforts to uncover new treatments and hope for families affected by dementia. So, thank you!

“We are thrilled that the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Scotland raised an incredible amount of £3.9 million for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The funds raised will support our Drug Discovery team – a dedicated group of researchers working to fast-track the search for life-changing new treatments for every form of dementia.
Dementia remains the UK’s biggest killer. But there are still no treatments available on the NHS that can slow, stop or prevent it. But with the support of Omaze and everyone who entered the draw, we are changing that.”

“I’ve been a proud Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Research UK for many years, having witnessed first-hand the destruction dementia causes. It robbed me of my brother and brother-in-law.
If nothing changes, one in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime—either by developing the condition ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both. So there has never been a greater need to support Alzheimer’s Research UK’s search for a cure.
I’m thrilled that Alzheimer’s Research UK is partnering with Omaze. Together, we really can end the heartbreak of dementia.”
