“Squirrels, for 4-6 year olds, is one of the fastest growing parts of Scouts. We now have nearly 17,000 Squirrels across 1,500 Squirrel Dreys (where Squirrels meet) with a quarter of these based in areas of deprivation. Yet demand for Scouts of all ages remains incredibly high – with 107,000 young people on our waiting lists.
That’s why we need more support to open new groups, attract more adult volunteers and create new places for young people.
