Experience Rules - Yorkshire IV

What our lawyers want you to read
Yorkshire IV House Experience Rules

Let's get started with the basics

Thanks for entering our Prize Draws! Omaze UK Limited (Omaze) runs and is the promoter for different draws to give people the chance to win houses, money, gift cards and other prizes. You can find our company information here. You’ll find details below about all the prizes available to win in each prize draw under these Yorkshire IV House Experience Rules (these Experience Rules).

  • About these Experience Rules

    These Experience Rules contain the terms and conditions for each prize and prize draw described below (each, a Prize Draw) and govern your entrance into them. We also have Official Rules which contain additional terms and conditions which apply to each Prize Draw – please read both sets of rules carefully as they contain important information you need to know and rules you need to follow (for example, the Official Rules contain important terms on winner disqualifications). By entering a Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by, and comply with, these Experience Rules and the Official Rules.

  • Key terms we use

    We’ve defined the capitalised terms in bold in these Experience Rules. Any capitalised term that’s not expressly defined in these Experience Rules is defined in the Official Rules.

  • No purchase necessary

    No purchase, payment or donation of any kind to Omaze is necessary to enter a Prize Draw. You can use our postal entry methods if you wish to enter without payment to Omaze.

    We draw winners for each Prize Draw using a verifiably random process from all eligible entries, which does not differentiate in any way between paid entries and postal entries. Your odds of winning depend on how many eligible entries we receive.

  • Where your entry fee goes

    If you enter a Prize Draw by a paid method of entry, you are supporting Blood Cancer UK, a registered charity in England and Wales (216032) and in Scotland (SC037529). Irrespective of the number of tickets sold in the Prize Draw, we guarantee to provide this charity with a donation of £1,000,000.

    How to nominate someone

    The winner may nominate one person to receive the Nominee Prize.
    The winner must provide the nominee’s full name, contact details and any other information reasonably requested by Omaze within 3 days of being notified that they are the winner.
    The winner is responsible for ensuring that the information provided about the Nominee is accurate and up to date.
    The winner must obtain the Nominee’s permission before submitting the Nominee’s name, contact details or any other personal information to Omaze.
    By submitting the Nominee’s details, the winning entrant confirms that:

    • they have told the Nominee that their personal information will be shared with Omaze;
    • the nominee has agreed to the winning entrant sharing their personal information with Omaze for the purposes of administering the Nominee Prize;
    • the Nominee has agreed that Omaze may contact them; and
    • the Nominee has agreed that Omaze may carry out checks to verify the Nominee’s eligibility and suitability to receive the Nominee Prize.
    Payment of the Nominee Prize

    The Nominee Prize will be paid directly to the accepted Nominee.
    Omaze will not pay the Nominee Prize to the winner on behalf of the Nominee nor will Omaze pay the Nominee Prize into any bank account on which the winner is named.
    The Nominee Prize is non-transferable once the Nominee has been accepted by Omaze.
    Omaze may require the nominee to provide bank account details, proof of identity, proof of address, proof of UK tax residence and any other information reasonably required to administer payment of the Nominee Prize.
    Omaze is not responsible for any tax liability arising from receipt of the Nominee Prize. The Nominee is responsible for obtaining their own tax advice.

    Background Checks and right to refuse a Nominee

    Omaze may carry out background, identity, eligibility, sanctions, adverse media, financial crime, fraud prevention and other checks on the Nominee that Omaze reasonably considers appropriate.
    Omaze may require the winner and/or the Nominee to provide information and documents reasonably required for those checks.
    Omaze may refuse to accept a Nominee, withhold the Nominee Prize, or require the winner to nominate an alternative person if:

    • the Nominee does not satisfy these terms;
    • the Nominee fails to provide information or documents requested by Omaze;
    • the Nominee does not pass Omaze’s background, eligibility or suitability checks;
    • Omaze cannot contact the Nominee within a reasonable period;
    • the Nominee declines the Nominee Prize;
    • accepting the Nominee could, in Omaze’s reasonable opinion, create legal, regulatory, reputational, political, tax, financial crime, bribery, corruption, conflict of interest or other risk; or
    • Omaze otherwise considers, in its discretion, that the Nominee is unsuitable to receive the Nominee Prize.

    Omaze’s decision on whether to accept or refuse a Nominee is final.
    Omaze is not required to provide detailed reasons for refusing a Nominee where doing so could prejudice Omaze’s checks, risk management processes, legal obligations or confidential decision-making.

    Alternative Nominee
    If Omaze refuses to accept a Nominee, or if the nominee is unable or unwilling to accept the Nominee Prize, Omaze may allow the winner to nominate an alternative person.
    Any alternative Nominee must satisfy these terms and will be subject to the same checks and approval process.
    If the winner does not provide an eligible and acceptable Nominee within 3 days of Omaze requesting this, Omaze may decide that no Nominee Prize will be awarded.

    Data Protection

    Omaze will process the nominee’s personal data for the purposes of administering the draw, contacting the Nominee, verifying the Nominee’s eligibility, carrying out background and compliance checks, administering the Nominee Prize, fraud prevention, compliance with legal obligations and protecting Omaze’s legitimate interests.
    The personal data processed may include the Nominee’s name, contact details, date of birth, address, tax residence, identity documents, bank details and information obtained from background, fraud prevention and other eligibility or suitability checks.
    Omaze will process Nominee personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice.

    Publicity

    Omaze may request that the winner and Nominee take part in reasonable publicity relating to the draw and your prize. See the Official Rules for more details.
    Omaze will require the Nominee to keep the Nominee Prize confidential until Omaze confirms that the prize may be publicly announced.

Boosters & new prizes

  • Boosters for subscribers

    Omaze offers various prize boosters for the Grand Prize (each a Booster) and if the Grand Prize winner purchases a Booster, they will automatically receive the corresponding boosted prize. In this Grand Prize, the following Boosters are available to buy:

    Lifestyle Booster £5,000 in cash every month for 5 years (a total value of £300,000)
    Prize Booster £250,000 in cash

    To be eligible to win a Booster, you must either: (a) submit the winning postal entry for the Grand Prize, in which case you will receive all Boosters available for the Grand Prize, or (b) have an active subscription with Omaze and an active Booster (as per the Subscription Terms of Use, which also apply to subscribers’ entry into this Prize Draw) at the time the Grand Prize entry period closes for online entries.

  • New Secondary Prizes

    We may add new prizes to win as part of the Secondary Prizes (each, a New Secondary Prize) during the Prize Draws. If we do, a New Secondary Prize will have its own entry period (which we’d extend for postal entries) and date for when a winner is selected. We’ll update these Experience Rules to set out these timeframes, the prize description, any eligibility requirements and other key details. If you enter the Grand Prize draw during the applicable entry period for a New Secondary Prize, you’ll be automatically entered for the chance to win the New Secondary Prize based on your number of entries to the Grand Prize draw.

Additional entry requirements

  • General eligibility requirements

    You must be 18 years old or over and a legal resident of the UK when you enter a Prize Draw and when you accept the prize. Please also read the Official Rules which contain additional eligibility requirements.

  • Entry period deadlines

    We must receive entries to all Prize Draws before the following times for them to be eligible:

    Paid online entries 23:59:59 (GMT or BST as applicable) on the last date of the entry period
    Postal entries 17:00:00 (GMT or BST as applicable) on the last date of the entry period

    We’re the official timekeeper. Any hand delivered entries are not eligible and will be void.

  • Entry limits

    There are no entry limits in the Prize Draws – you can enter as many times as you like into a Prize Draw. However, for paid methods of entry, we have a £500 per customer monthly purchase limit on our Website and App. These potential limitations would only apply to paid online methods of entry – we won’t limit the number of postal entries you can make.

What happens if you win

  • You must be verified

    We verify all potential winners we draw before we announce them as the prize winner, as described in more detail in the Official Rules.

  • Multiple prizes are possible

    You can win multiple prizes in the Prize Draws (such as the Grand Prize plus any of the Secondary Prizes).

  • Accept the prize on time

    If a winner doesn’t contact us to accept their prize within the timeframe described in the tables above, they will be deemed to have forfeited any claim to the prize and will not be entitled to an alternate prize or compensation. In such cases, we may draw an alternate winner using a verifiably random process from all eligible entries. We aren’t responsible for any electronic, software, network or internet issues or failures with notifying a winner about winning a prize or delivering a prize via email.

  • When we announce winners

    We’ll announce all winners in accordance with the timelines in the tables above.

  • Prize are as-is

    All prizes are awarded as-is, without any representations or warranties unless expressly stated otherwise elsewhere. All costs and expenses not included above or within the prize(s) are the responsibility of the winner(s) unless expressly stated otherwise elsewhere.

  • Your responsibilities if you win

    Winners must accurately complete and return any documentation we notify them of in writing in order to accept and redeem a prize – failure to do so may unfortunately result in disqualification. Winners are also solely responsible for all taxes, costs and fees associated with their receipt, ownership and/or use of a prize.

The final bits you need to know

  • Changes

    We reserve the right to extend, withdraw, alter or suspend a Prize Draw or to amend these Experience Rules at any time if circumstances beyond our control make this unavoidable.

  • Substitution

    We have the right to substitute any prize with another prize of comparable or greater value.

  • Severability

    Each of the clauses of these Experience Rules operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will remain in full force and effect.

  • Liability and governing law

    Section 18 (Limitation Of Liability; Sole And Exclusive Remedy) and Section 19 (Governing Law; Jurisdiction) of the Official Rules are incorporated as if written into these Experience Rules (references to “Official Rules” will be replaced with references to “Experience Rules”).

Best of luck!
