Peatlands are one of nature’s superpowers in tackling the climate emergency, providing homes for wildlife, improving water quality, preventing floods and locking away carbon.

They cover just 3% of the earth, but store more carbon than the world’s forests. Yet over 80% of UK peatland is damaged or deteriorating and in need of vital conservation.

The Omaze Community has raised a staggering £4,900,000 in the Cornwall House Draw to help the RSPB restore UK peatlands.

So, thank you for entering the Cornwall House Draw and supporting the RSPB.

“On behalf of everybody at the RSPB, I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to every single person who entered this draw.

Nature is in crisis and the UK is now one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. The money we receive from the Omaze campaign will go directly to help protect and restore our precious UK peatlands – one of nature’s greatest superpowers.

This incredible support allows the RSPB to continue our vital work to protect habitats, save species and help to end the nature and climate emergency. Together, we can save nature!”

Press play to watch RSPB Ambassador, Deborah Meaden, explains just how much of the nature we love is in trouble and how important it is to take positive action when it comes to supporting nature and fighting climate change.

“Some of the best moments of my life have been when I have stood still amongst the natural world, listening and watching. But nature is in crisis.

We don’t want our wildlife to disappear, our wild places to be threatened, or our rivers to die. This partnership with Omaze is a fantastic way to not only raise significant sums of money, but also spread awareness for the RSPB and take action for nature.

I’m so proud to be supporting this incredible partnership between the RSPB and Omaze. Together we can save the nature we love before it’s too late.”
